Artsmark

Artsmark is a national award scheme managed by Arts Council England that recognizes schools with a high level of provision in the arts.

Artsmark is an award scheme that encourages schools to increase the range of arts they provide and to raise the profile of arts education throughout England. It provides a benchmark for arts opportunities in schools; to receive an award schools must ensure that young people have a wide range of experiences in art, dance, drama and music. These include access to regularly timetabled curriculum hours, out of hours opportunities and the chance to work with professional artists and arts organisations.

Congratulations to all schools that have been awarded Arts Mark in Round 10 (2009-2010)!

Artsmark After Round 10 - UPDATE

Arts Council England (ACE) are currently reviewing Artsmark and will be testing new models in 2010-11. A refreshed scheme will be piloted from September-December 2010 and take into account feedback from schools and other partners. Through evaluation and discussion with Ofsted, DCMS, DCFS and Local Authorities, ACE have identified that quality outcomes and a simpler online application are important factors in shaping a new scheme.

Following the pilot phase of the scheme's development ACE will be launching Artsmark New Generation in September 2011. Please visit the Arts Council England website for the latest information.
