Safeguarding Requirements

Daisi is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people that engage in any Daisi creative activity. As part of the workforce that helps shape many of these experiences and opportunities, we need to demonstrate that all our staff, our board members and our creative practitioners are aware of and trained to an introductory level of knowledge and understanding around safeguarding procedures and policies.

That is why from the 1st April 2020, we will need to see evidence of safeguarding training (up to a minimum of level/group 2) that has been undertaken within the last 3 years.

If you already hold a Safeguarding training certificate, please scan or post a copy to us, so that we can update our records.  If you have never attended training or your training is older than 3 years, you may want to take advantage of the various opportunities and methods of training we have found and provided links for, below:

Face to face training courses are being run by VOYC Devon in Barnstaple on 20th January and Exeter on 21st January 2020 – £25 for members (it’s free to join).

There is face to face training being run in Plymouth by Plymouth City College on 24th January and 20th March 2020 for £35.

If you prefer e-learning, there is a free online training course available. Please note, if you are trying to use a laptop with a touch screen or a phone or tablet – none of these work with the e-learning.  It is preferable for you to use a desktop machine when undertaking this e-learning. When you click on the link above (or copy and paste into the address bar), you will need to register first and then please just follow the instructions on screen.

Alternative options for online training are: Mandatory Compliance – anytime up to the 31st of December for special offer of £10 (usually £24.99).

After the 1st April 2020, if we have not seen a copy of your certificate or proof of training, then we will NOT be able to contract you for work, until we have done so.
