We are delighted to announce the second series of Daisi’s new online Teacher Development sessions – affectionately named Teacher Nurture to reflect the principle that creatively confident teachers are better able to cultivate the same skills in their students.
The next series of three twilight sessions will work with artist Anna Boland to get to grips with the magical medium of clay – to make mistakes, improve on them and have some fun along the way. Teacher Nurture: Connecting with Clay begins on Thursday 5 May and is open to up to 15 teachers in Devon and Torbay – secondary, primary, specialist and novice alike.
Teacher Nurture emerged from a focus group held by Daisi with teachers from Devon and Torbay, asking what they would like to see from Daisi in terms of Teacher Development. Among other things, we learned how many art teachers in secondary schools are not art specialists. And we took apart the idea that some teachers are confident with art while others are not, realising that every teacher is somewhere on their own creative journey.
We also asked whether teachers would prefer to see something in school or join something online and the group was unanimous that twilight sessions online was what they needed. And so, Teacher Nurture was born.
We would love to see you there! Click here to find out more and book your place.
