The Art of Resilience:
Daisi Champions the Role of Creativity in Fostering Mental Health and Wellbeing Recovery for Children and Teens Post-Lockdown
Exeter, United Kingdom (05.06.2023) – As the world continues to emerge from the COVID pandemic, the lasting effects on children and teenage mental health continue to surface. Daisi (Devon Arts in Schools Initiative) is committed to championing the power of creativity to help young people heal, grow, and build resilience in the aftermath of lockdowns and disruptions to their education and daily lives.
Recognising the critical role the arts can play in fostering wellbeing, confidence and educational attainment for children and teenagers, Daisi has launched a series of innovative arts-based programmes designed to provide much-needed support to young people as they navigate the post-lockdown world. These programmes focus on creative expression, storytelling, and performance as tools for self-exploration, communication, and empowerment.
With the aim of expanding its reach and amplifying its impact, Daisi is excited to announce the search for a new Chair to join its leadership team. The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for the arts within young people’s personal, social and creative development, with a strong vision for the future of the organisation and the ability to guide its growth and resilience. The new Chair will work closely with the existing team to strengthen partnerships, secure funding, and ensure the continued success of Daisi’s vital mission.
As Daisi moves forward with these crucial initiatives, the organisation is eager to share inspiring stories of transformation and healing through the arts. From young people rediscovering their sense of self and purpose to educators witnessing the profound impact of creative expression on their students, these stories provide a glimpse into the tremendous potential of the arts to foster mental health and wellbeing recovery and resilience in the face of adversity.
By providing a platform for young people to explore their emotions, connect with others, and find solace in the creative process, Daisi is not only helping to address the immediate mental health needs of children and teenagers but also laying the foundation for a future where the arts are recognised as a vital component of well-being and personal growth.
