Finding Your Voice and Sharing it Through Song

An interactive music workshop, led by musician Laura Forster, aimed at finding confidence using your voice and exploring ways of expressing it through songwriting.

Within this workshop, students will have the opportunity to explore using their voice in different ways. Following a series of vocal warm ups and games, students will think about other ways to use their voice and may sing songs from different parts of the world. This will lead into a basic introduction to songwriting with students invited to complete practical activities before coming together as a group to share their work.

Laura’s music practice is introduced ahead of the day by a short (15 minutes) ‘Daisi Bytes’ video which enables children to connect the activities with the wider cultural and music world, and can be shared with the entire school community in addition to workshop participants.
