Felting Fundamentals

Work with an experienced Daisi artist to discover the joys of creating colourful felt art worksIn this session, participants will explore a few different wet felt making processes that are age appropriate. They will learn how the wool is prepared and then have a go with various techniques, which might include: wet felting images, incorporating pre-felt and other embellishments or how to use 2D or 3D moulds to create wet felted objects / forms.

Through a series of short activities, this workshop breaks down the process of wet felt making. Starting with some design work and colour planning, moving onto the process of how to layer the wool, build in details, wet the wool down, and then the action involved that causes the wool to fuse in to felt.

When booking your session, you will be able to communicate the cross-curricular topics that your class are working on.  Where possible, the artist will gently incorporate this theme into the final activity.
