ArtEffect: supporting young people’s emotional health and wellbeing

ArtEffect began in 2016 and is a collaboration between Devon schools, teachers, young people, and professional artists.  It is exploring how this collaboration can create artistic opportunities in school, and in non formal education settings, that support the wellbeing of young people who have identified themselves as experiencing mental health issues.

“Best bit was doing what I want without being judged.  Thank you for being there for me.  I just feel better for expressing myself.”

Jade, age 13, Axminster

ArtEffect is developing the case for the positive contribution that the creative arts workshop can bring to supporting the emotional, psychological and social wellbeing needs of children and young people in Devon.

The ArtEffect project 2016-17 was supported by Devon County Council.

If your school would like to work with Daisi to support the positive mental health of your pupils, we are now taking bookings from schools for new ArtEffect delivery. Please visit the ArtEffect booking page for more information.
