DigitEx was a participatory workshop and performance project for Exeter children. It was initiated to explore personal, community and global identity through arts and new technology in celebration of the reorganisation and new builds of Exeter schools in 2005.
The project involved a series of day workshops in digital photography and took place in 22 of Exeter’s schools. The workshops aimed to give students a chance to document the changes underway around the city’s schools, and to examine their school spaces and environment with a camera.
An exhibition featured one framed image (often collaboratively produced) from each participating school, as well as a dance performance where students performed live at Isca Academy whilst partnering a second performance by their peers at St Peter’s C of E Aided School via Web Cast.
