Visual Arts Workshops

Visual Arts Workshops

Our experience suggests that there are two ways to think about visual arts workshops.  We could begin with the unique thought processes that lead to the creativity behind an artist’s approach.  Or we could begin with the practical skills, or ‘tools’ that form the foundation stones of art.  Both approaches are outlined in the National Curriculum, and all our workshops include an element of both.  But where to begin … that depends on your priorities for the session!

Think Like an Artist

These workshops directly respond to the artists’ own work and thought processes, teaching children to think in different ways through art and connecting their thinking across different disciplines.

With the workshop booking, you’ll be given access to a short film about the artist.  Daisi Bytes films introduce young people to the work of specific artists and enable you to build anticipation for the workshop, sustain the experience over a longer period of time, and share an understanding of the artist and their work with the whole school community.

“All teachers have fed back how it was not only a superb experience for the children but how they enjoyed it and felt better equipped to teach… I can not thank you enough.”
