Closure FAQs for Daisi Artists

With Daisi preparing to close, we want to be as open and supportive as possible with our artist community. These FAQs bring together the key information we have at this stage and will be updated if anything changes. We also have a General FAQs page which you can access here.

Daisi is closing due to funding challenges that make it unsustainable to continue operations. This decision was carefully considered, and all alternatives were explored before concluding that closure was necessary.

Daisi will close on the 25th of March. All scheduled workshops and projects will run until this date, and we will work with schools to ensure a smooth conclusion of any ongoing activities.

Any workshops or projects taking place on or before 25 March will go ahead as planned. If anything you’re booked for that is affected by the closure, we’ll be in touch directly as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, no. Daisi won’t be able to deliver or manage any work taking place after 25 March. Where we can, we’ll do our best to support schools and artists by sharing alternative contacts.

Daisi won’t be able to maintain an active database after closure, but if you gave us permission, we will share your contact details with schools, The Helen Foundation and the DCEP.

We know how valuable these connections are. While we won’t be running an artist database going forward, artists who gave permission are now on a contact list which we will circulate before we close.

A DBS check does not expire, but each organisation decides whether to accept a check carried out by another organisation.

Once Daisi closes, we will no longer be able to verify or manage DBS checks. Future schools, organisations, or employers may ask you to complete a new DBS check according to their safeguarding policies.

Unfortunately, we’re not able to provide individual references. However, you’re very welcome to include your work with Daisi in your CV, on professional profiles, and applications.

Yes. We’ll be holding an informal evening gathering at Exeter Phoenix on the 19th of March. We’ll be in the Workshop Room on the ground floor from 5.30–7.30pm with a few thank-yous at 6.30pm. To help us plan, please register your attendance here. We hope you can join us.

If anything is unclear or you have further questions, please email admin@daisi.org.uk. We will do our best to respond as soon as possible, response times may be slower than usual, thank you for your patience.
